Plan To Be Surprised
Posted by Angel   ·   Friday, July 04, 2008
If we are really honest with ourselves, that most of the time our plans do not work out as we hoped, so instead of asking our young people "what are your plans", "what do you plan to do with your life", maybe we should tell them this, "plan to be surprised".

Across The Universe
Posted by Angel   ·   Saturday, June 28, 2008
Tonight I watched the movie "Across The Universe".  It made me feel really awful about a lot of things I did not know about that happened during the wars and music that was made during that time a long time ago, like the Beatles song, Strawberry Feilds, is about blood and death.  It is a beautiful movie, the choreography is amazing, the music is amazing, and the sets they created to movie some of the movie is really artistic.  I highly recommend seeing the movie.  All you need is love!

Community Power
Posted by Angel   ·   Wednesday, June 25, 2008
It has been a while since my last entry.  It is interesting, a friend of mine told me yesterday that people do not realize how powerful a community can be.  It is good to see that other people feel the same way I do. America is such a big place that most areas do not have community at all. The elderly travel 4 hours a day to buy food and talk with friends on public buses.  I think that is just as bad as child obesity.  My father visited this past weekend.  We ate at Salsa Lynda restaurant in Boulevard about 8 miles from Jacumba.  This place has some of the best Mexican food I have ever tasted they even sell freshly made salsa in bottles, the salsa is amazing and I recommend the burritos, they are easily vegan/vegetarian friendly too.

Friday the Thirteenth
Posted by Angel   ·   Friday, June 13, 2008
It is Friday the Thirteenth.  Tomorrow is my birthday, June Fourteenth, Flag Day.  I am still living in Jacumba California and so I have dubbed Jacumba home base for at least six months.  The town itself has a history.
Today some four hundred people live in Jacumba.  What now appears a quiet high desert retreat was once a thriving spa.  In the 1920s and 30s the community thrived, its therapeutic hot springs a mecca for Hollywood celebrities and wealthy Imperial Valley growers. Walking through town on a sunny day you get the sense of history.  The old buildings, tumbleweeds and dry air gives your imagination space to wander.  Humans have the bad habit of complaining and I think it must be part of our nature or maybe many people are off track. Almost everyone today complains about gas prices, airports lines, public transportation, the economy, their brothers, their sisters, their families, jobs, and weird people.  I advise you, please stop complaining!  Find some peace, there is no other way!

The Outlaw has Left Escondildo
Posted by Angel   ·   Wednesday, June 04, 2008
Yay I am in Jacumba at Jacumba Hot Springs Spa.  I will be staying here a few months if not longer.  After seeing the stupid sheriff again at the lame Walmart in San Marcos; I said you my self "That is it, I am going to Jacumba tomorrow."  I arrived around 830am this morning, it took me about 3 and a half hours to drive the short 90 mile treck back up to 2700 foot elevation to the village of Jacumba.  In the first few hours I was able to get a residence, Po Box address, and library card.  It is going well, everyone in town I have met so far is really nice.  I also finished planting herbs in the planters; no not pot; its all from Homedepot!
